Colors and Relfections |
Imagine |
With this image, I'm trying to convey that everything I see is in "vivid color", meaning that I experience emotions and experiences on very high levels. The bright flowers and the yellow sunset represent the thoughts going through my head and how awake and attentive they are. I notice that I'm never "fine" or "calm", I'm always experiencing a certain emotion and it consumes my whole being. The first layer is the Chicago skyline, viewed from a boat. This can both represent my love for travel, as well as my own belief that we as a species are so small, and so insignificant in the grand scheme of the universe, yet we still create beautiful things. The second layer is a picture of daffodils that are in the garden outside of my house. My favorite color is yellow, and I thought that this could highlight the sky. I also think this could represent my creativity and imagination. The third layer is of a golden retriever, whose name is Lily. I think she can represent how much of a child I am at heart and how I still make mistakes, and I have time to learn from them.
I blended in dog and the flowers as best as I could, just so that they could perfectly highlight the sky in the background, and not just placing the pictures on top of each other.
The title Colors and Reflections means that I have both gotten time to understand myself, but I know that I still have much more to learn about who I am.

As for the second selfie, this one is much better. There is more of a color scheme, its more neutral toned, just more visually appealing. The second one feels more cozy, although the background picture is one of the clouds, I feel more at home looking at the second picture. Its more comfortable, more inviting to look at. The first selfie jumps out at you and demands to be seen and admired, while the other selfie is calm and collected and casual. I'd say the blending is better for the second one, a Photoshop technique I've found works very well.
